Will You Give? - Haiti and the Children

My heart is going out to the little children of Haiti. Yes, I grieve for all the people there, but the amount of children who are left without parents, relatives to take care of them. I want so much to cry, but that won't help them at all. What do they need you ask? Prayers first of all, but money is the next best thing that would help Haiti most of all. Even if you just have a small amount of change, that alone will feed so many people. The organizations that feed countries who are needing help, such as Haiti does now, can purchase food at a cheaper price than we could ever try to send individual items to people. One thing is these organizations are set up to do just that very thing in a disaster. If you can, donate to your American Red Cross, mark it for Haiti, or your local church donation, marked for Haiti. You need to donate to a well established organization, not someone or place you've never heard of before. You never know during a disaster who maybe trying to set up organizations that don't care about helping at all. They basically are there to rip people off and take advantage of the situation. Please donate to one of the more recognized organizations, such as the American Red Cross, or your local church. You know exactly where this money will go, and who it's going to help. Many people have gone over to Haiti to help in searching for people. It's getting to a time that even though we don't want to think about it as a "recovery mission", that is where it's heading. It's getting where the days are clicking by so fast, that there is hardly anyway it is possible for anyone to be alive after all the time that has passed. I'm not saying it isn't possible, as there was one man just found alive after being buried for 11 days. He was very lucky, and blessed. He was in a place where there was food, drink and he was able to stay nourished. I don't think he had a great time, however. Just think, to be buried alive, in a rubble of stone, bricks, dirt, and not really knowing if anyone would hear you yelling "Hey, I'm alive in here"!. He was very lucky that after 11 days he was found and could live through it to tell. Not everyone was so lucky. We need to pray for the people now that are still alive and send the kind of help they need. We must pray for the children left without anyone to raise them, or total strangers taking them in for the time being. Waiting to see if they have any relatives could take them in to raise them. I'm sure that our hearts and purses are going to be open for a while, but we must know that these children will need help probably for the rest of their lives. It took away everything they knew, the only place and things that they called "home". Pray that they know GOD will always be there for them. HE will feel their pains, HE will listen to them when no one else will or can listen anymore. HE will provide! Hopefully we can help with not only prayers at this time, but with what ever we can afford to give so that these survivors can have a future too. Will You Give?
